Statement of Faith

Eastside Explorers is governed by a Christian Board of Directors who prayerfully seek to honor the Lord Jesus Christ in all aspects of leadership, decision-making, and ministry within our cooperative. We acknowledge the authority of Scripture and desire that all activities, communications, and relationships conducted under the umbrella of Eastside Explorers reflect a Christian testimony marked by grace, truth, and charity.

This Statement of Faith is offered for the purpose of expressing the foundational convictions that unite us as a Christian homeschool support group. It is not meant to serve as an exhaustive confession of every matter pertaining to Christian doctrine, nor is it intended to cause division among sincere believers. Rather, it provides clarity regarding the essential theological beliefs that guide our fellowship, instruction, governance, and community life.

We affirm and confess the following:

• We believe in one sovereign God, eternally existing in three distinct yet coequal persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit—the Holy Trinity—who created all things, upholds all things by the word of His power, and works all things according to His perfect will.

• We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who took on flesh and was born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless and perfect life, willingly offered Himself as the atoning sacrifice for the sins of humanity upon the cross, was crucified, died, and was buried, and on the third day rose bodily from the grave, triumphant over sin and death. Through His finished work, all who confess Him as Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead receive forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God, and everlasting life.

• We believe in the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, regenerates and indwells believers, convicts the world of sin, guides the church into all truth, and empowers followers of Christ to live godly and obedient lives according to the will of God.

• We believe the Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the divinely inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, wholly sufficient as the supreme rule for faith, doctrine, and Christian practice.

• We believe that God established marriage as a holy covenant ordained from creation, to be entered into by one man and one woman, and that this union is a living picture of the sacrificial love and faithful devotion between Christ and His Bride, the Church.

In all things, we seek to conduct ourselves with humility, charity, and unity in Christ, extending grace to one another while upholding the truth of God’s Word. It is our desire that every family who participates in Eastside Explorers would be encouraged, equipped, and strengthened through fellowship, discipleship, and a shared commitment to honor the Lord in our homes and within our broader community.
